Florida Panthers News & Updates

Aaron Ekblad, the defenseman for the Florida Panthers, is not expected to participate in the remaining regular season due to a mysterious injury. Despite this setback, Coach Paul Maurice remains optimistic about Ekblad's availability for the upcoming Stanley Cup playoffs.

At 28 years old, Ekblad was forced to exit the game early during a match against Montreal on Tuesday owing to an altercation in the initial period. Throughout this season, Ekblad has been sidelined for a total of 25 games, during which he has accumulated 18 points across 51 games played.

In Ekblad's absence, Josh Mahura is set to step into the role on the defense line for the game against Ottawa that's scheduled for Thursday.

Additionally, the Panthers' forward, Carter Verhaeghe, is currently facing an upper-body injury and is described as being on a week-to-week recovery timeline.
