After missing the start of the season due to an injury, Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic has joined the team for their upcoming four-game road trip.
Nedeljkovic made an impressive lone start with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last Friday, achieving 33 saves in a 4-3 victory. Throughout the game, he felt comfortable and settled into the play.
During the road trip, the Penguins will compete against the Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks. The team currently has goaltenders Tristan Jarry and Joel Blomqvist in their lineup.
In the 2023-24 season, Nedeljkovic had a notable first season with Pittsburgh, securing 18 wins and maintaining a 2.97 goals-against average. Before joining the Penguins in 2023 as a free agent, he played for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Detroit Red Wings.
His career statistics include a record of 60-45-22 with a 2.96 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. Notably, he led the league in goals-against average and save percentage during the 2020-21 season and was selected for the NHL All-Rookie first-team.
Recently, Nedeljkovic signed a two-year contract with the Penguins, which has an average annual value of $2.5 million.
