Anaheim Ducks News & Updates

The Anaheim Ducks picked up goaltender James Reimer from the Buffalo Sabres via waivers on Monday.

At 36, Reimer had inked a one-year deal with the Sabres in July. However, the Ducks claimed him to serve as a backup to Lukas Dostal, as their first-choice goalie, John Gibson, underwent an emergency appendectomy recently.

The Ducks will start the 2024-25 season with an away game against the San Jose Sharks this Saturday.

Reimer was with the Detroit Red Wings last season, achieving an 11-8-2 record, a .904 save percentage, and a 3.11 goals-against average.

Throughout his 14 NHL seasons with five different teams, Reimer has accumulated a career record of 215-177-63, a .910 save percentage, a 2.88 goals-against average, and recorded 30 shutouts.
