Anaheim Ducks News & Updates

Cutter Gauthier has inked a three-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks, following an impressive stint at Boston College where he broke numerous NCAA scoring records.

He is slated to make his first appearance for the Ducks in their upcoming game against Vegas. Gauthier's move to Anaheim was facilitated through a trade with Philadelphia, giving up Jamie Drysdale and a future second-round selection for his rights.

Selected fifth overall by the Flyers in the 2022 draft, Gauthier dominated the NCAA leaderboards with 38 goals, 10 of which were decisive in victories, and a total of 65 points. He also secured second place in the category of power-play goals with 13 to his name.

Despite his standout performances, Gauthier's relationship with the Flyers soured as he ceased communication with the team's management and refrained from participating in training or agreeing to a contract, leading to his eventual trade.

His exit occurred just as Boston College experienced defeat in the NCAA championship game against Denver, ending their impressive 15-game win streak and halting their high-scoring run for the first time since March 2023.

Gauthier's prowess on the ice was also a key factor in Team USA's triumph at the World Junior Championship, where he was a co-leader in scoring with 12 points and received accolades as the tournament's best forward.

With Gauthier’s arrival, the Ducks are aiming to bolster their roster, as he becomes the fifth top-10 draft pick to join the team since 2019, a vital move for a franchise seeking to return to playoff contention after a hiatus since 2018.
