Vegas Golden Knights News & Updates

Frank Vatrano led the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights with a hat-trick in the closing game of the season.

This defeat placed the Knights in the second wild card spot of the Western Conference, meanwhile, the Kings moved on to play against Edmonton thanks to an overtime point from a game against Chicago.

Vegas' single goal was courtesy of Jack Eichel, who acknowledged the tough playoff competition ahead and looked forward to the challenge.

With Vatrano achieving a personal best of 37 goals for the season, his hat-trick in this match stood out as his third of the year, significantly contributing to the Ducks' win.

Anaheim's victory was also bolstered by the assistance from Jackson LaCombe and Ryan Strome, and Lukas Dostal's 29 saves.

Making his first appearance in the NHL, Cutter Gauthier made a memorable assist, sharing his happiness about his achievement.

In what was his final game after 12 seasons, Jakob Silfverberg received handshakes from the Golden Knights, marking the end of his NHL journey.

Eichel managed his highest goal count since 2020, with Adin Hill making 19 saves. Meanwhile, William Karlsson hit the 60-point mark for the second time, and Jonathan Marchessault was close to breaking a single-season record for club goals.

Despite a sluggish start by Anaheim allowing Vegas early control, the Ducks picked up pace as the game progressed.

William Lagesson marked his 100th career game with the Ducks, a milestone accomplishment.
