Andersen Secures Third Shutout in Seven Matches as Hurricanes Blank Blue Jackets 3-0

In Raleigh, North Carolina, Frederik Andersen achieved his third shutout over the span of seven games by making 23 saves, leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets in their last home game of the season.

Andrei Svechnikov, returning after missing a game, scored within the first 17 seconds, contributing to the victory. Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen also scored goals in the opening period. Malcolm Subban, in his first game of the season for Columbus, stopped 32 shots.

With this win, the Hurricanes improved their home record to 27 wins, 10 losses, and 4 draws. They are set to play their last four regular-season games on the road, with expectations of playing at home again in the Eastern Conference playoffs in about two weeks.

Svechnikov ended a 10-game scoreless streak with his 18th goal of the season, while Aho leads the team with 35 goals, and Teravainen added his 22nd goal.

The two teams will meet again for the last game of the regular season on April 16 in Columbus.

Up next, the Blue Jackets will play in Tampa Bay on Tuesday night, and the Hurricanes will head to Boston for their game on the same night.
