Andrew Cogliano Retires from NHL, Transitions to Avalanche Front Office Role

Andrew Cogliano, a forward who is 37 years old, has decided to retire from the NHL after an impressive 17-season career. In his final three seasons, he was a part of the Colorado Avalanche and will now take on a new position within the team's front office.

Across his career, Cogliano took part in 1,294 regular season games and accumulated 464 points. He played for multiple teams including Edmonton, Anaheim, Dallas, San Jose, and Colorado. Notably, he contributed to Colorado's Stanley Cup victory in 2022.

Cogliano was particularly recognized for his reliability, having played in 830 consecutive games at one point. In his new position, he will focus on player development, scouting, and supporting the Colorado Eagles.

Chris MacFarland, the general manager of the Avalanche, commended Cogliano's professionalism and leadership skills, and voiced enthusiasm about his future contributions to the organization.
