In Vancouver, Arshdeep Bains netted his debut NHL goal, aiding the Canucks in their 4-3 victory over the Penguins.
Elias Pettersson initiated a run of four goals for Vancouver midway through the second period, with contributions following from Kiefer Sherwood and J.T. Miller. Bains went on to extend their lead after Evgeni Malkin found the net for Pittsburgh in the third period.
The Penguins saw goals from Malkin, Anthony Beauvillier, and Bryan Rust. Kevin Lankinen secured 21 saves for the Canucks, whereas Alex Nedeljkovic made 30 saves for Pittsburgh.
During the second period, Vancouver's depth was evident as all four lines scored within a span of six minutes. Ten players from the Canucks were involved in this effort, while the Penguins' offense faltered after a strong first period.
A pivotal moment for Vancouver came when Pettersson scored at 4:06, leading to an offensive burst that resulted in three goals within 65 seconds.
This defeat marked the end of Pittsburgh's four-game winless road trip in Western Canada, where they managed to collect just one point from an overtime loss against the Flames.
Looking ahead, the Canucks are set to host the Hurricanes on Monday, while the Penguins prepare to return home and face the Wild on Tuesday.
