The Colorado Avalanche's Artturi Lehkonen is slated for shoulder surgery next week, a development confirmed by the team's general manager, Chris MacFarland, on Thursday.
Lehkonen, having netted scores in each game against the Winnipeg Jets in the initial playoff series, could only secure one goal during the Avalanche's defeat to the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference semifinals over six games.
Throughout the playoffs, Lehkonen contributed to the team with 11 points, consisting of 6 goals and 5 assists, over 11 games. This was on top of his regular season performance, where he achieved 34 points from 16 goals and 18 assists in 45 games.
At 28 years old, the Finnish player has tallied 243 points, with 117 goals and 126 assists, across 521 games while playing for both the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche. Having been picked by the Canadiens in the second round of the 2013 draft, Lehkonen celebrated a Stanley Cup victory with Colorado in 2022.
