In Game 7 against Boston, Toronto's leading player, Auston Matthews, made a comeback after being out for two games because of sickness.
A source mentioned that Matthews was on the ice, albeit not in his best health condition.
The team's recent victories had been with Joseph Woll as goalkeeper, but he was benched for this game. Ilya Samsonov, who was the initial choice at the start of the series, resumed his position as the goaltender for Toronto, with Martin Jones providing support as the backup.
