Auston Matthews contributed with his first goal and two assists leading the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night.
In the first period, Matthews initiated the scoring and played a pivotal role by assisting on two goals during power plays. Bobby McMann scored twice, with Morgan Rielly, William Nylander, and John Tavares also adding goals to the scoreboard.
Anthony Stolarz made an impressive 32 saves for the Maple Leafs, marking their third consecutive win after losing the opener.
Alex Turcotte and Kevin Fiala found the net for the Kings, who now stand at one win, one loss, and two overtime losses on their seven-game road trip to start the season.
In a notable achievement, Matthews became the fourth player in Maple Leafs history to reach 200 career goals on home ice.
The Maple Leafs are set to face the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night, while the Kings will play against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.
