The Colorado Avalanche will miss their top goal scorer, Ross Colton, for approximately six to eight weeks as he recovers from a broken foot.
Colton's injury presents another challenge for the 2022 Stanley Cup winners, who have already lost five out of their initial ten games this season.
The team is also dealing with the absence of forward Miles Wood, who will be sidelined for at least a week because of an upper-body injury.
Colton's injury adds to a list that includes Jonathan Drouin, Artturi Lehkonen, Gabriel Landeskog, and Valeri Nichushkin.
In spite of missing several pivotal players, the Avalanche continue to have star players like Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, and Mikko Rantanen.
