Calgary Flames News & Updates

Blake Coleman found the net twice, and Dan Vladar recorded 22 saves to secure his third career shutout, guiding the Calgary Flames to a 3-0 win against the New Jersey Devils and ending Calgary's four-game losing streak.

Jonathan Huberdeau contributed to the Flames' scoreboard, while Jacob Markstrom made 29 saves for the Devils, who experienced their first shutout loss this season.

It was a scoreless game until Coleman redirected a shot from Kevin Bahl with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Huberdeau increased the lead shortly after, and Coleman sealed the win with an empty-net goal with a little over three minutes left.

During the first period, Devils forward Nathan Bastian had to leave the game with a jaw injury following a fight with Ryan Lomberg.

Despite scoring 24 goals in their initial six games, the Flames have managed just nine goals in their last five games. The Devils are set to play Edmonton on Monday, while the Flames prepare to host the Oilers on Sunday.

The Flames have been struggling on the power play, failing to score in their last 20 opportunities over six full games and two additional periods.
