Boone Jenner, a forward for the Columbus Blue Jackets, is expected to be sidelined for up to six months following shoulder surgery. This procedure took place in Vail, Colorado, due to an injury occurring during practice.
Jenner is anticipated to start rehabilitation shortly. The team officials are optimistic about his return before the season concludes and hope he can participate in the outdoor game against Detroit on March 1.
In contrast, there is encouraging news for forward Dmitri Voronkov. He will not require surgery and is anticipated to rejoin the team by November.
With over $20 million in cap space available, the Blue Jackets have the flexibility to strengthen their lineup. They have been granted an exemption by the NHL and NHLPA, allowing them to begin the season below the cap floor.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are set to start their season this Thursday against the Minnesota Wild.
