In Columbus, Damon Severson and Zach Werenski led the charge with two goals each, and Jet Greaves stopped 37 shots to help the Columbus Blue Jackets seal a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, pushing the Flyers' losing streak to seven matches.

Contributions also came from Erik Gudbranson and Nick Blankenburg for the Blue Jackets, marking their third victory in the last four outings. This comes despite the roster being peppered with players who were part of their AHL squad just a month before.

Severson highlighted the effort to foster a positive team culture, particularly praising the defensemen's performance on the night. For the Flyers, goals from Olle Lycksell and Adam Ginning were not enough to prevent the loss, yet the team still remains within the hunt for a playoff berth despite their recent form.

Flyers coach John Tortorella described the defeat as bitter, emphasizing the need for the team to stay motivated and find solutions internally. The Blue Jackets achieved a milestone, equaling an NHL record for the most goals scored by defensemen in a single game, with six.

Columbus coach Pascal Vincent commended the defensemen for stepping up and making significant contributions to the win. Gudbranson reached a personal milestone by matching his season-best sixth goal, with Severson netting two in the second period and Werenski adding his pair in the final period.

Despite Ginning's late goal for the Flyers, the Blue Jackets had already ensured a comfortable lead. Flyers' Garnet Hathaway lamented the team's lack of scoring finesse, which has been evident in recent games.

Looking ahead: The Flyers are set to face Montreal on Tuesday, while the Blue Jackets will be on the road against Carolina on Sunday.
