Blue Jackets Secure Sixth Consecutive Point, Overcome Blackhawks 6-3 as Johnson Extends His Point Streak to Nine Games

Sean Monahan played a key role with both a goal and an assist as the Columbus Blue Jackets increased their points streak to six games by defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3.

Kent Johnson contributed by scoring in his second straight game, bringing his points streak to nine games. Columbus also saw goals from Ivan Provorov, Dante Fabbro, Kirill Marchenko, and Dmitri Voronkov.

For Chicago, power-play goals came from Connor Bedard, Craig Smith, and Nick Foligno as the team suffered its second consecutive loss, maintaining its position at the bottom of the NHL standings.

Columbus's Elvis Merzlikins recorded 28 saves, while Chicago's Petr Mrazek stopped 30 shots.

Chicago scored first, but Columbus quickly answered with goals from Provorov and Monahan.

Johnson has secured points in each of the nine games he has appeared in this season.

Looking ahead, Columbus will face Calgary on Tuesday, and Chicago is set to play against Toronto on Monday.
