Ottawa Senators News & Updates

Bo Horvat played a key role by scoring one goal and providing two assists, helping the New York Islanders secure a 4-2 win against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

Anders Lee also played a significant part in New York's success, contributing a goal and an assist, as the team increased its winning streak to three games. Additional goals for the Islanders came from Oliver Wahlstrom and Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

For Ottawa, Nick Jensen and Drake Batherson scored in the third period, while Tim Stutzle managed to assist twice. Senators' goaltender Anton Forsberg stopped 21 shots.

Wahlstrom's early third-period goal gave the Islanders a 3-0 advantage, but Jensen and Batherson responded with goals to narrow the lead to one.

Horvat secured the victory with a late empty-net goal, finishing the game with just 10 seconds left on the clock.

In the opening period, there was a tense moment as Tim Stutzle was hit in the forehead by a deflected shot, though he returned to the game in the second period.

The Islanders benefited from strong performances by Lee, Horvat, and Pageau working together.

For the Senators, defenseman Artem Zub came back to action after missing nine games due to a concussion.

One of the pivotal moments in the game was Pageau's goal just over a minute before the second period ended, providing New York with a two-goal cushion.

Despite Brady Tkachuk leading the Senators with seven goals, his streak of recording points in five consecutive games ended.

Looking ahead, the Islanders are set to face the New Jersey Devils at home on Saturday, while the Senators will travel to Boston for the start of a two-game road trip.
