Sergei Bobrovsky achieved his 45th career shutout by making 27 saves, while Aleksander Barkov added a short-handed goal along with two assists, helping the Florida Panthers secure a 5-0 victory against the NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets.
Sam Reinhart contributed with three assists for Florida, ending their two-game losing streak and marking the first instance the Jets faced a five-goal deficit this season. Goals for the Atlantic Division leaders came from Mackie Samoskevich, Evan Rodrigues, Nate Schmidt, and Dmitry Kulikov.
Despite their defeat, the Jets hold an impressive 15-3-0 record, marking the best start in the franchise's history. Bobrovsky's crucial save against Mark Scheifele preserved Florida's 2-0 lead, while Rodrigues and Barkov further extended the Panthers' advantage, sealing their win.
The Panthers, who have already scored five short-handed goals this season, are set to face the Jets once more in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
