Tampa Bay Lightning News & Updates

In Tampa last evening, a standout performance by Sergei Bobrovsky with 26 saves and Matthew Tkachuk scoring twice powered the Florida Panthers to a win against the Tampa Bay Lightning with a score of 5-3.

Other key players for the Panthers included Brandon Montour, Sam Reinhart, and Steven Lorentz, helping secure a 3-0 series advantage in the opening round of the playoffs. Tkachuk was instrumental, initiating the scoreline in the first period and closing it with an empty-net goal towards the match's conclusion.

The Lightning saw their goals scored by Steven Stamkos, Tyler Motte, and Nicholas Paul, yet these were insufficient to counter the Panthers' prolific offense. The Lightning's goaltender, Andrei Vasilevskiy, made 26 saves.

Although Tampa Bay came into this matchup with a highly effective power play, they were unable to capitalize on any of their four chances, and the Panthers faced no power play opportunities themselves.

Looking forward, the Panthers will aim to complete a series clean sweep in the next game, which is scheduled for Saturday night in Tampa.
