Matt Boldy found the back of the net twice and Kirill Kaprizov contributed with three assists as the Wild triumphed over the Sharks with a 5-2 victory on Thursday.
In the second period, Mats Zuccarello's goal put the Wild ahead 2-1, thanks to a no-look pass from Kaprizov. A power-play goal by Boldy extended Minnesota's lead, and Jonas Brodin increased it further to 4-1 with a slap shot in the third period.
Zach Bogosian scored first to give the Wild an early lead in the opening period. Macklin Celebrini, the top NHL prospect for 2024, netted both goals for the Sharks.
Celebrini's goals were noteworthy as they came from the league's youngest player against veteran goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who is the oldest currently active. Fleury's appearance marked his 1,029th career game, drawing him level with Patrick Roy for the third-most games played by an NHL goaltender.
Boldy's goal represented the end of a 17-game power-play lull for the Wild. Celebrini has impressively secured three goals across his initial three NHL appearances.
Next, the Wild are set to compete against the Ducks on Friday, while the Sharks begin a four-game road trip starting on Sunday.
