Boston's defenseman, Andrew Peeke, will miss a week of action after incurring an upper-body injury during the second game of their series against Toronto. Due to this, he will be unable to travel with the team to Toronto for the third game.
It appears Peeke suffered his injury when a puck hit his left hand in the second period, leading to his immediate departure from the game and failure to return.
The Maple Leafs won the game with a score of 3-2, evening out the series in the Eastern Conference's first round. The upcoming Game 3 is scheduled to take place in Toronto on Wednesday.
At 26 years old, Peeke has made contributions of 10 points across 38 games in the regular season, playing for both Boston and Columbus. His move to Boston happened due to a trade in March.
In his NHL career, Peeke has accumulated 44 points along with 104 penalty minutes over 233 games. To fill the gap left by him, the Bruins brought up Mason Lohrei from Providence.
At 23, Lohrei has scored 13 points in 41 appearances for Boston during this season.
