In his initial game post-signing a new contract, Jeremy Swayman successfully made 21 saves. Mark Kastelic's two goals contributed to the Boston Bruins' 6-4 victory against the Montreal Canadiens.
Boston benefitted from the performances of Elias Lindholm and Cole Koepke, each securing a goal and two assists. Goals also came from Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak.
For Montreal, Brendan Gallagher found the net twice, while Kaiden Guhle added a goal and an assist to the tally.
The Bruins dominated the shots on goal in the first two periods, with a 23-11 advantage. However, the Canadiens reversed the momentum with a 14-6 lead in the third period.
Though Montreal scored twice in the third, Kastelic responded swiftly with his second goal of the match just 17 seconds later.
Looking ahead, Montreal will face Ottawa on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Bruins prepare to welcome the Los Angeles Kings during the second game of their three-game homestand.
