Buffalo Sabres News & Updates

The Buffalo Sabres ended their three-game losing streak by defeating the Ottawa Senators 5-1 on Tuesday.

In the early minutes of the third period, Bowen Byram and Tage Thompson each secured a goal. Byram netted two goals in total, while JJ Peterka contributed two goals and an assist. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 37 saves for the team.

The Ottawa Senators, who began the season strongly, have now suffered four consecutive losses away from home.

Buffalo's coach, Lindy Ruff, had conveyed his disappointment regarding the team's careless play, but they responded with a solid showing on the ice.

A pivotal moment in the game occurred when Luukkonen successfully defended against a two-man breakaway in the first period.

Rasmus Dahlin achieved a milestone with 300 career points, becoming only the third defenseman in the history of the Buffalo team to reach this mark.

The Senators are set to play the New York Islanders at home on Thursday, whereas the Sabres will head to New York to face the Rangers.
