Buffalo Sabres News & Updates

The Buffalo Sabres have secured forward Beck Malenstyn with a two-year contract worth $2.7 million, successfully avoiding salary arbitration.

Malenstyn, who is 26 years old and a restricted free agent, chose arbitration earlier this month after being traded from the Washington Capitals during the NHL draft.

The aggressive left winger is expected to bring more physicality to the Sabres' fourth line under the guidance of new coach Lindy Ruff.

Originally drafted by Washington in 2016, Malenstyn scored six goals and totaled 21 points over 81 games in his first full NHL season. Over his entire NHL career, he has accumulated eight goals and 24 points in 105 games.
