The Calgary Flames have brought on defenseman Tyson Barrie with a contract for one year valued at $1.25 million.
Barrie, aged 33, initially joined the training camp on a professional tryout basis. Known for his proficiency in power plays, he has accumulated 210 career power-play points.
In the previous season, Barrie scored one goal and contributed 14 assists over 41 games while playing for Nashville. Throughout 13 seasons with four different teams, he has achieved 109 goals and 396 assists.
The Flames are set to compete against Winnipeg in their last preseason match at home on Friday night. Their regular season will commence with an away game in Vancouver on Wednesday night.
