Canada's First Stanley Cup Final Appearance Boosts NHL Game 1 Viewership

Canada's participation in the Stanley Cup Final led to a substantial rise in viewership, experiencing a 43% increase compared to the previous season.
The first game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers drew an audience of 7.1 million viewers across North America.
This occurrence is only the second instance since 2012 where a Canadian team has made it to the Cup Final, with the last being Montreal's appearance in 2021.
Even though the Oilers lost 3-0, their involvement resulted in the highest ratings for a Stanley Cup Final Game 1 since 2019.
The second game is scheduled to be held in Sunrise, Florida, and will be available on ABC and ESPN+ in the U.S.
