Montreal Canadiens News & Updates

Juraj Slafkovsky, a forward for the Montreal Canadiens, is expected to be out for at least a week due to an injury to his upper body.

The 20-year-old was part of practice before the Canadiens faced off against the New York Rangers. He suffered a shoulder injury last week, but managed to return to the ice, contributing two assists in a 4-3 shootout defeat to the New York Islanders.

In July, Slafkovsky agreed to an eight-year contract extension worth $60.8 million. This season, he has accumulated six points over six games. Since being the top pick in the 2022 NHL draft, he has totaled 66 points across 127 games in his career.
