Vancouver Canucks News & Updates

Brock Boeser from the Vancouver Canucks is currently sidelined indefinitely after suffering a head injury caused by Tanner Jeannot from the Los Angeles Kings. Canucks coach Rick Tocchet has expressed uncertainty regarding the timeline for Boeser's recovery but mentioned that the injury is not considered severe.

During the Canucks' 4-2 victory over the Kings, Jeannot faced a match penalty due to an illegal head check on Boeser. As a result, the league has suspended Jeannot for three games.

Boeser was absent from the Canucks' 7-3 defeat to the Edmonton Oilers, and Tocchet voiced concerns for his health.

Boeser, who is leading the Canucks in scoring, has achieved six goals and 11 points across 12 games. With his absence, the Canucks have called up Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who was the 15th overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft. Lekkerimaki, who has accumulated seven points in seven games with Abbotsford in the AHL, might make his NHL debut against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
