Anaheim Ducks News & Updates

Brock Boeser, Danton Heinen, and Kiefer Sherwood each scored a goal and provided an assist as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Anaheim Ducks with a 5-1 victory. Quinn Hughes reached a milestone with his 300th career assist.

Additional goals for the Canucks were scored by Jake DeBrusk and Elias Pettersson, while Kevin Lankinen made 21 saves. Olen Zellweger found the net for the Ducks, who have lost seven out of their last nine games.

The Canucks' goalie, Thatcher Demko, participated in shooting drills following the morning skate and may be back at practice within the week.

The Canucks have earned a point in seven of their last eight games after opening the season with a 0-1-2 record. Hughes continues to perform excellently, and the Canucks dominated Anaheim across all aspects of the game.

The Ducks currently have the NHL's least effective offense, scoring fewer than three goals in eight out of their 12 games. Zellweger's goal marked their sixth power-play goal of the season.

Boeser and Sherwood both scored within 57 seconds during the first period, reversing an early deficit and securing the lead for the Canucks. Hughes achieved his 300th assist in just his 376th game, even though he was initially given credit for Pettersson’s deflection goal.

The Ducks will face Minnesota on Friday, while the Canucks are set to visit Los Angeles on Thursday.
