Nashville Predators News & Updates

In an exhilarating sixth game, a closing moment goal from Pius Suter led the Vancouver Canucks to a narrow win of 1-0 against the Nashville Predators, ensuring their progression to the second playoff round of the NHL.

Towards the game's end, Nashville had an opportunity to push the game into overtime thanks to a power play, but Vancouver's standout rookie goalie, Arturs Silovs, stood strong. Silovs joins a rare cohort, becoming the fifth rookie goalkeeper in three decades to secure a series-ending shutout.

This achievement places Silovs in esteemed company, amongst notable rookie goalies like Carey Price and Matt Murray. Looking ahead, Vancouver is set to compete against Edmonton in a series that has seen the visiting team clinch victory in the last five matchups.

Despite their defeat, the Predators continue to be seen as strong competitors. Yet, their challenge continues as they have not clinched a playoff series since 2018, with a running total of six straight playoff defeats at their home venue.

The crucial goal by Suter, assisted by Brock Boeser, marked Vancouver's second in the series, breaking their previous limit of 92 shots across the first five games. This was the second-lowest number of shots in a playoff series up to game five since the year 1960.

Following Thatcher Demko's injury, Silovs rose to the occasion as Vancouver's leading goalie. His remarkable performance not only claimed victory in Game 4 but has significantly contributed to Vancouver's journey to the subsequent round.
