The Vancouver Canucks managed to secure a victory against the Edmonton Oilers with a score of 4-3 in the third game of their Western Conference playoff series.
Brock Boeser and Elias Lindholm contributed significantly by scoring two goals each for the Canucks. Assists came from Quinn Hughes and J.T. Miller, with goaltender Arturs Silovs stopping 42 shots. For the Oilers, goals were scored by Mattias Ekholm, Leon Draisaitl, and Evan Bouchard. Goalkeeper Stuart Skinner was substituted after making 11 saves for Calvin Pickard, who stopped three shots in his first NHL playoff appearance.
The next game, Game 4, is scheduled to take place in Edmonton on Tuesday night, with the series standing at 2-1.
The Oilers initially took the lead thanks to their top-ranked power play with a goal from Ekholm in the first period. Vancouver responded with a power-play goal from Lindholm to even the score. Boeser later capitalized on weaknesses in the Oilers' defense to take the lead, and then added another goal, bringing the score to 3-1.
In the second period, Edmonton reduced the gap with a power-play goal from Draisaitl. Nonetheless, Lindholm scored again to maintain a two-goal lead for the Canucks.
Even after changing their goalie in the third period, the Oilers trailed behind. Bouchard's goal brought the score to 4-3 with only 1:16 left, but they couldn't secure an equalizer. Draisaitl has consistently scored points in each Oilers playoff game this season.
