Vancouver Canucks News & Updates

In Vancouver, Tyler Myers contributed with both a goal and an assist, while Thatcher Demko made an impressive comeback from injury by blocking 39 shots, steering the Canucks towards a 4-1 win against the Calgary Flames.

Nils Hoglander, Dakota Joshua, and J.T. Miller each found the back of the net for Vancouver, achieving their first division victory since 2013. This win puts the Canucks just two points shy of the Dallas team at the top of the Western Conference standings.

For Calgary, Brayden Pachal was the only player to score, with Jacob Markstrom stopping 27 shots. Despite letting in a goal near the end of the third period, Demko, who had been sidelined for 14 games, clinched the victory following Miller's late score.

The game's opening goal came from Myers while the Canucks were down a man, followed swiftly by goals from Hoglander and Joshua within the first period. The match also saw a clash leading to Conor Garland and Adam Klapka being sent off.

A potential goal by the Flames was thwarted by Quinn Hughes in the third period, and Demko's vital save against Nazem Kadri during a penalty kill boosted their defense. Oliver Kylington celebrated playing his 200th NHL game for the Flames.

The regular season for Vancouver is set to wrap up in Winnipeg, with Calgary gearing up to welcome San Jose.
