Pius Suter scored a late goal that gave the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks. The scoring for the Canucks began with Jake DeBrusk, and Kevin Lankinen contributed by making 21 saves.
The Sharks saw goals from Mikael Granlund and Nico Sturm. In goal, Mackenzie Blackwood made 25 saves, and Timothy Liljegren made his first appearance for San Jose.
The Canucks ended the Sharks' three-game winning streak and also put a stop to San Jose's nine-game losing run.
After a defeat to the Devils, the Canucks bounced back with a victory against the Sharks, who had been on a winning streak.
Liljegren played 17 minutes in his debut with the Sharks, which was notably more than his time on the ice with the Maple Leafs.
Granlund managed to tie the game with an empty-net goal, but it was Suter's quick response that ensured the Canucks came out on top.
Vancouver failed to capitalize on two power-play opportunities, yet they succeeded in breaking a four-game power-play scoring drought.
The Canucks are set to play in Anaheim on Tuesday, while the Sharks will face Columbus at home.
