Capitals Dominate with Power Play Mastery to Overcome Devils, Extend Road Winning Streak

In a clash between the leading teams of the Metropolitan Division, the Washington Capitals triumphed over the New Jersey Devils with a 6-5 victory in Newark. This win marked Washington's seventh consecutive success on the road, tying their franchise record.

For the Capitals, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Rasmus Sandin, and Taylor Raddysh each had a goal and an assist. Raddysh broke a 4-4 tie with a late third-period tip-in, which was quickly followed by Dubois' goal 10 seconds later, extending Washington's lead to 6-4.

John Carlson was instrumental for Washington with three assists, while Jakob Chychrun continued his scoring streak, finding the net for the third time in four games.

New Jersey’s Stefan Noesen scored twice, with Jesper Bratt, Nico Hischier, and Justin Dowling also adding to the scoreboard. Jack Hughes provided three assists for the Devils.

Charlie Lindgren, playing for Washington, recorded 22 saves, while Jake Allen made 26 saves for the Devils.

Washington's power play showed marked improvement, netting three goals against the Devils, pulling them out of the last place in power play rankings.

The Devils have been slow starters, allowing the first goal in each of their last seven games, with a 4-3 record in those contests.

A strategic 4-on-3 power play in the second period was pivotal for Washington, with goals from Connor McMichael and Chychrun, securing a 3-2 advantage.

Since losing Alex Ovechkin, the Capitals have been effective on the power play, converting 8 out of 20 opportunities in their last five games.
