Washington Capitals News & Updates

The Washington Capitals have strengthened their roster by trading with the Ottawa Senators for defenseman Jakob Chychrun. Chychrun, a top-pairing, puck-moving defenseman, is in the final year of his contract and will provide a significant upgrade to the Capitals' blue line.

Along with Chychrun, the Capitals have been busy in the offseason. They have brought in center Pierre-Luc Dubois, winger Andrew Mangiapane, goaltender Logan Thompson, and signed free agent defenseman Matt Roy.

The Ottawa Senators, who had previously acquired Chychrun from the Arizona Coyotes last season, have experienced a challenging offseason. They have changed their general manager and president of hockey operations and have signed veteran forward David Perron to a two-year deal.

The Capitals are optimistic that Chychrun's addition will aid their quest for a playoff spot, while Chychrun is excited to join a team with Stanley Cup aspirations.
