Carolina Hurricanes News & Updates

The Carolina Hurricanes managed to prevent a clean sweep in the second round of the NHL playoffs by securing a 4-3 win in the fourth game against the New York Rangers. Surprisingly, their success came from a power play that had previously been underperforming.

In a pivotal moment, Brady Skjei found the net on a power play with just over three minutes left, securing Carolina's lead. Before this, the Hurricanes had failed to capitalize on 17 power play opportunities in this series.

Carolina's scoreboard also saw contributions from Evgeny Kuznetsov, Stefan Noesen, and Sebastian Aho, with Frederik Andersen stopping 22 shots. On the opposite side, Igor Shesterkin made 27 saves for the Rangers, who initially showcased a strong playoff start by winning their first seven games.

Up to this game, the Rangers were leading the series with three wins, but Carolina's perseverance and unwavering spirit have ignited their hopes to be among the few teams to overcome a 3-0 series deficit in the playoffs.
