Carolina Hurricanes Sign Defenseman Jalen Chatfield to Three-Year Extension

The Carolina Hurricanes have locked in defenseman Jalen Chatfield with a contract extension for three more years, ensuring they keep a key player in their strong defensive group.
Eric Tulsky, the interim general manager, commended Chatfield's speed and dedication, emphasizing his significant role on the team.
At 28 years old, Chatfield achieved career bests last season with eight goals and 14 assists, partnering effectively on the third pairing with Dmitry Orlov.
The Hurricanes have also managed their upcoming free agents by securing coach Rod Brind'Amour and making important decisions regarding players like Jake Guentzel, Brady Skjei, Brett Pesce, Seth Jarvis, and Martin Necas.
After a strong playoff performance, Carolina was ultimately defeated by the New York Rangers in the second round.
