The Carolina Hurricanes have brought forward Jack Roslovic, 27, on board with a one-year deal worth $2.8 million.
Roslovic joins from the Blue Jackets and Rangers, having netted nine goals and 31 points in the 2023-24 season.
General manager Eric Tulsky highlighted Roslovic’s offensive skills and speed, which he believes will enhance the team’s attacking lineup.
Roslovic is the sixth NHL player to be signed by the Hurricanes this week, as Tulsky continues the efforts of former general manager Don Waddell to secure a seventh consecutive playoff appearance.
The Hurricanes are also dealing with the challenge of replacing key players like Jake Guentzel, Teuvo Teravainen, Brett Pesce, and Brady Skjei.
Uncertainty surrounds Martin Necas, a restricted free agent whose father is pushing for a trade. Necas was one of the team’s top scorers last season.
Although Roslovic has had past injury issues, he managed to tally 11 goals and 44 points for his hometown team in the 2022-23 season.
In his career, Roslovic has accumulated 80 goals and 141 assists over 445 games, starting his NHL journey with the Winnipeg Jets.
