New York Rangers News & Updates

Before the start of the third period in Game 6, Chris Kreider confidently told his teammates he was going to score. He more than kept his word, netting three goals in the last period to lead the New York team to a 5-3 rally over Carolina.

Kreider's explosive performance resulted in the Hurricanes being knocked out of the competition, following their recovery from a 3-0 lag. The Rangers are now on standby to see who their next opponent will be in the Eastern Conference final, as they wait for the conclusion of the series between the Panthers and the Bruins.

With his playoff tally reaching seven goals, Kreider has become the second Ranger to score the most goals in their initial 10 postseason games, only bested by Ron Duguay and Ulf Nilsson, who each have eight goals.

Furthermore, he joins an elite group as the ninth player in NHL history to score a natural hat trick in the third period, and even more impressively, he is among the exclusive six who have done it during a game that clinched a series.

Kreider's scoring spree began with capitalizing on a loose puck, continued with a power-play goal, and he sealed his hat trick with a decisive game-winning goal, all scored from within 18 feet of the net.

This season, the Rangers have mastered the art of the comeback, with their victory marking their 33rd of the season and tying the record for the most comeback wins in NHL history. Kreider's critical goals have propelled his team within eight victories of their first Stanley Cup since 1994, signaling a noteworthy performance.
