Rick Bowness, the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, is gearing up to return to his coaching responsibilities during the upcoming home game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
Following a trip from New York to Winnipeg last Tuesday for a medical procedure deemed minor, Bowness was away from his team. During his absence, the team, under the temporary leadership of associate coach Scott Arniel, posted a record of 1-3-0.
Bowness remarked on his health and the physical reminder of his age, stating he feels significantly better after addressing some health issues. He shared his challenges with being away from the team, highlighting the difficulty of watching from the sidelines and his eagerness to be actively involved, especially during times when the team is not performing to their full potential.
With a standing of 44 wins, 22 losses, and 5 overtime losses, totaling 93 points, the Winnipeg Jets are currently positioned third in the Central Division. They are just four points behind the division leaders, the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars.
