In a remarkable comeback from a two-goal shortfall, Kirill Marchenko and Zach Werenski found the net in the third period for Columbus. Additionally, Mathieu Olivier added to the tally, and goaltender Elvis Merzlikins stopped 30 shots, securing his premier victory over Pittsburgh.

On the Penguins' side, Drew O'Connor, Bryan Rust, and Rickard Rackell managed to score, completing a split in the back-to-back series with Columbus, a series that marked the Penguins' first loss to the Blue Jackets in their seasonal matchups so far.
