The captain of the Edmonton Oilers, Connor McDavid, is currently being assessed on a day-to-day basis after he did not attend practice for two days in a row, all because of an injury to his lower body.
During a statement, Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch mentioned that McDavid felt some pain in the latter stages of the game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday. There's a possibility that McDavid might not participate in the upcoming match against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.
Having amassed 99 points, the Oilers have already clinched a spot in the playoffs and are just five points behind the Pacific Division leaders, the Vancouver Canucks.
At the age of 27, McDavid has managed to score 31 goals and achieve a personal best of 99 assists over the course of 74 games this season.
As the current holder of the Hart Trophy, McDavid has tallied a total of 980 points, including 334 goals and 646 assists, in 643 games throughout his career since being the top pick in the 2015 draft.
