Edmonton Oilers News & Updates

Connor McDavid, although defeated by the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final, received the Conn Smythe Trophy for being the most valuable player in the playoffs.

McDavid became only the sixth player to obtain the trophy despite his team's loss in the Final. He surpassed Wayne Gretzky's record for assists in a single postseason, delivering 34 assists in 24 games.

McDavid led the Oilers in an astonishing comeback from a 3-0 deficit in the series, earning the MVP accolade due to his unprecedented performance.

However, the award held a bittersweet taste for McDavid, as he fell short of his ultimate aspiration to win the Stanley Cup.
