Calgary Flames News & Updates

Connor Zary secured a goal during the third period, helping the Calgary Flames to clinch a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night.

Contributing to Calgary’s offense were Matt Coronato, Yegor Sharangovich, and Jonathan Huberdeau. Goalie Dustin Wolf played a critical role with 27 saves, marking his third win in a row.

For the Rangers, Alexis Lafreniere and Will Cuylle found the back of the net. However, they faced their second road loss of the season with Igor Shesterkin stopping 46 shots in the game.

In a decisive moment, Zary managed to resist pressure from Kaapo Kakko, executing a lift over Shesterkin for the decisive goal.

In Thursday’s game, the Flames dominated their opening period of the season by significantly outshooting the Rangers 20-5.

The Rangers placed significant reliance on Shesterkin, who faced a total of 46 shots during the match.

The pivotal moment was marked by Zary's crucial goal in the third period, achieved despite heavy pressure from opposing player Kakko.
