The team captain of the Philadelphia Flyers, Sean Couturier, is set to miss the initial two matchups of the team's next series of away games due to an injury in his upper body.
Labeled as day-to-day, Couturier will be absent for the upcoming contests against the Buffalo Sabres and the Columbus Blue Jackets, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Currently, the Flyers are experiencing a challenging period, having faced five straight losses, and are barely ahead of the Washington Capitals by one point in the rankings of the Metropolitan Division.
At 31 years old, Couturier has managed to secure 36 points over the course of 70 games this season. Notably, he was also excluded from participation in two games the previous month, though he was in good health.
Having earned the Selke Trophy during the 2019-20 season for his exceptional defensive play, Couturier has reached a career total of 496 points from 791 games with the Flyers, following his selection as the eighth overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft.
