Dallas Stars News & Updates

Jamie Benn netted two goals in a span of 1 minute and 17 seconds, prolonging his scoring run to three matches, leading the Dallas Stars to a victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins with a score of 4-2.

The efforts of Benn played a key role in concluding the Stars' five-game stint at home with three wins and two losses, positioning them with 95 points. This score tied them with Colorado atop the Central Division.

In spite of Pittsburgh's initial momentum, Michael Bunting of Dallas equalized the game, while Jake Oettinger contributed with 20 saves to secure the win.

The Penguins, at risk of not making the playoffs, experienced their 14th road game setback, with a dismal record of 2 wins, 10 losses, and 2 ties.

A goal by Sam Steel during the third period led to Tristan Jarry being replaced by Alex Nedeljkovic as the Penguins' goaltender.

A decisive power-play goal by Benn during a transition phase ensured the Stars emerged victorious.

Following a less impressive performance in his last game, Oettinger returned with a commendable showing in the net.

Mike Sullivan, coach of the Penguins, pointed out several factors for substituting Jarry during the game.

Looking ahead, the Penguins are set to compete against Colorado on Sunday, and the Stars will commence a four-game journey on the road, starting with Arizona on Sunday.
