In Dallas, the Stars triumphed over the Colorado Avalanche with a 5-3 win, primarily due to Mason Marchment's impressive performance, which included two goals and an assist.
The victory saw contributions from Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, and Roope Hintz, helping Dallas to break a two-game losing streak. Jake Oettinger made 29 saves, achieving an 8-0 record at the American Airlines Center in his 200th NHL start.
For the Avalanche, Mikko Rantanen, Artturi Lehkonen, and Valeri Nichushkin found the back of the net, while Alexandar Georgiev managed to stop 19 shots.
Lehkonen and Rantanen managed to reduce the score difference in the third period, but Marchment secured the win with a late empty-net goal.
Early in the game, Josh Manson left due to an upper-body injury.
Nichushkin from the Avalanche continued his point streak for a fourth consecutive game, while the Stars' Duchene has accumulated 12 points over his last nine games.
Oettinger's critical saves towards the end of the match were pivotal. Dallas improved their home power play by scoring twice out of four attempts, while Colorado continued to struggle with their road penalty kill.
Looking ahead, the Avalanche will play against the Oilers on Saturday, and the Stars are set to face the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.
