Dallas Stars Secure Top Seed in Western Conference Following Shootout Victory Against Blues

In a thrilling regular season finale, the Dallas Stars' goaltender, Jake Oettinger, exhibited a stellar performance by blocking 26 shots through the regulation and overtime periods, followed by a perfect defense against all three shootout attempts, anchoring the Stars' 2-1 win against the St. Louis Blues.

This victory ensured the Stars not only clinched the Central Division title but also secured the No. 1 seed for the Western Conference playoffs, a position guaranteed with an additional point from reaching overtime. The decisive goal in the shootout came from Jason Robertson, who netted it with a skillful backhand.

Concluding the season with a record of 52 wins, 21 losses, and nine ties, the Stars accumulated 113 points, marking their highest point total since the 1998-99 season when they captured their sole Stanley Cup. A memorable moment came in the first period when Oettinger executed an extraordinary save, leaping across the goal to block Robert Thomas' power play shot with his skates airborne. Thomas managed to notch the opening goal in the second period, but Marchment equalized in the third period with a brisk turnaround shot from beyond the crease.
