Radek Faksa clinched the victory for the Dallas Stars by scoring the winning goal in the final period, leading them to a 2-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights in the decisive Game 7 of the opening round.

Wyatt Johnston contributed a goal for the Stars as well, and goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 21 shots. The Golden Knights saw their lone goal from Brett Howden, who managed to even the score in the second period.

Despite falling behind by two games at the start, the Stars managed to secure the series, marking a rare comeback for the team. This occasion represents just the second instance in 16 attempts where they have emerged victorious in a best-of-seven series after a 0-2 start.

Under the guidance of Coach Pete DeBoer, who has an unbeaten record of 8-0 in Game 7 situations, including contributing to the Golden Knights' two prior Game 7 victories, the team showcased exceptional resilience.

Advancing to the second round, the Stars are set to compete against the Colorado Avalanche, putting an end to the Golden Knights' playoff journey for the season.
