The Seattle Kraken brought forward Daniel Sprong back from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for future considerations.
A well-traveled Dutch winger, Sprong contributed a goal and three points in nine appearances for the Canucks. Throughout his career, he has been on the rosters of five other NHL teams, including two stints with the Kraken.
In the 2022-23 season, Sprong tallied 21 goals and 46 points, playing a crucial role in helping the Kraken secure a playoff spot in their second year.
This season, the Kraken have faced challenges in goal-scoring, managing 40 goals across 14 games. With Sprong's return, there is potential for an improvement in their secondary offense.
As of Friday, the Kraken held the 21st position in the league, averaging 2.79 goals per game, and were trailing by five points in the Wild Card race.
